We are seeking a dynamic P&C Reinsurance Actuary with underwriting exposure to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing and pricing reinsurance treaties, supporting underwriting decisions, and providing actuarial insights that align with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, with an emphasis on risk assessment, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both actuarial functions and underwriting processes, enabling them to contribute to effective portfolio management and risk mitigation strategies.
Reinsurance Pricing: Conduct actuarial pricing for a wide range of P&C reinsurance treaties, including quota share, excess of loss, and other structured reinsurance arrangements.
Underwriting Support: Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate and assess risks, leveraging actuarial models and analysis to support decision-making on reinsurance terms and conditions.
Portfolio Management: Assist in the management and optimization of reinsurance portfolios, ensuring diversification, profitability, and alignment with risk appetite.
Loss Reserving and Risk Analysis: Perform loss reserving and financial modeling to assess risk exposure, claim development, and reserve adequacy for reinsurance portfolios.
Financial Projections: Prepare and analyze financial projections for reinsurance contracts, contributing to company-wide financial planning and capital allocation strategies.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including IFRS, Solvency II, and other relevant frameworks, preparing reports as required.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize actuarial and statistical tools to analyze data, monitor trends, and provide insights into portfolio performance, claim emergence, and market conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as underwriting, claims, and finance to enhance business performance and address any emerging risks.
Model Development and Improvement: Continuously develop, refine, and update actuarial models to enhance the accuracy and reliability of pricing and risk assessment processes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Professional Designation: Associate or Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (e.g., CAS, IFoA).
