Our clients are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Actuarial Consulting Senior Manager, with a focus on Life insurance, within our Financial Services practice in Bermuda. This exciting opportunity arises from the continuous growth in the Life insurance/reinsurance industry in the region. The role will involve close collaboration with teams across the UK, Europe, and the US to deliver cross-border engagements to our clients. As a Senior Manager, you will play a central role in client engagements, team development, and establishing your reputation as a leader in the field.
Your role will be centered around providing clients with the knowledge and expertise necessary to execute strategies and address complex issues in the Life insurance sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading client engagement teams in various areas such as Financial Reporting, Risk Management, Actuarial Transformation®, Financial Modeling, Mergers and Acquisitions, Audit Support, Capital Optimization, Investment Advisory, and New Business Start-up Services.
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within expected timeframes and budget, monitoring progress, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Leading and motivating diverse teams, providing coaching and feedback to team members, and fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment.
- Identifying and generating new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and building networks within and outside the organization
- Demonstrating deep actuarial technical capabilities, staying updated on industry regulations, and effectively applying this knowledge to client situations.
- Maintaining industry expertise by writing articles, participating in industry groups, and speaking at industry events.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in actuarial-oriented roles, with at least 3 years of management responsibility.
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or other internationally recognized association.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and actuarial-related software/tools, including AXIS, Prophet, ALFA, MOSES, VBA, C++, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of reporting bases, particularly USGAAP and US Statutory.
- Excellent time management skills, analytical abilities, and project management skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in conveying complex subjects.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Prior consulting experience with business development, sales, and account management skills.
- Ability to deliver proposals and contribute to strategic discussions at the senior management level.
- Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs.
- Managerial experience, including leading teams across different projects.
