
Business Development Manager (Marketing)

US$120-140k DOE plus benefits and bonus
Responsibilities:
- Understanding the business activities of the practices and overall strategic objectives of the relevant products, partners and offices as well as contributing to the formulation of the practice development plans;
- Developing a solid understanding of the target markets through exceptional research skills, monitoring current and potential product areas, and keeping lawyers informed of relevant industry developments;
- Working with key players in the business and the internal Business Development team on the development and implementation of personal business development plans in support of the business strategy
- Providing day-to-day support on a wide range of client focused initiatives and projects, including
– targeted lead generation;
– production of pitch documents and fee proposals;
– strategic support on marketing trips, conferences and events; and
– identifying and implementing action plans to support cross-selling opportunities.
Required:
- a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or a related field such as business, communications or law
- a minimum of 5-7+ years of business development or consultancy experience, at least two years of which is in a professional services environment at a managerial level;
- strong commercial sense and financial acumen; anticipates and meets attorney and client expectations and continuously drive revenue generation and market profile;
- experienced leading, mentoring and developing direct reports, and working collaboratively with communications and other business services colleagues;
- exceptional written and oral communication skills, and able to build rapport with clients and colleagues of various levels of seniority;
- intellectually curious, critical thinker, proactive and resourceful with a desire to deliver a high-quality work product;
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience in InterAction or other CRM programs;
- experience working across investment funds, private equity and corporate product lines is highly desired.
