  • Assisting with developing and implementing Anti­Financial Control systems and controls and monitoring subsequent compliance with those systems and controls
    Using experience and knowledge to write, review, update, approve and implement appropriate/ consistent Compliance and Financial Crime policies and procedures, ensuring such policies remain fit for purpose by identifying changes and solutions
  • Assisting with the implementation and oversight of a robust Financial Crime control framework, which includes a monitoring programme that is designed to regularly test/monitor compliance with and the effectiveness of the Financial Crime policies and procedures, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met and escalating any issues identified accordingly assisting with providing Financial Crime relevant management information, reporting directly to the Boards’ and be ready to attend Board meetings and relevant Committee meetings when required
  • Providing assistance to the business to ensure full alignment with Cayman regulatory requirements as it pertains to Financial Crime for Banking activity, includes providing relevant guidance to the business as it relates to Financial Crime queries such as Customer Due Diligence, Risk Ratings; the application of the Group’s Financial Crime Group Minimum Standards and any specific Bank-related Financial Crime requirements in place within the Group
  • Ensuring proper operation for the Compliance Review Committee prior to filing external SARs
  • Participating in the Compliance Review Committee which includes reviewing and approving the IDF investigations and SARS for the MLRO’s final approval
  • Assisting with undertaking impact assessments on proposed new regulations; consider and propose recommendations as to the next steps including an impact assessment on the business; assessment of financial implications, lead project teams and related requirements
  • Assisting with the effectiveness of employee performance by identifying appropriate objectives and development needs within the team to develop a cohesive, balanced and well-rounded unit capable of delivering on the Compliance and Financial Crime mandate and providing employees with job satisfaction and career opportunities


  • Relevant professional compliance qualification or Bachelor Degree in Finance, Management or Risk Management and a minimum of five years’ relevant Compliance/Financial Crime experience
  • Significant compliance experience in a financial services business or other similar environment (law enforcement) with an in-depth understanding of: Financial crime regulations and procedures and regulatory guidance, Current knowledge of FATF, Cayman Monitory Evaluation Report (CMER) and CIMA regulatory initiatives
    Knowledge of FRA reporting requirements, compliance reporting and corporate governance
  • Understanding of investment business, entities. Counterparties, Trusts and legal person(s) and Financial Crime risk
  • A detailed knowledge of available AFC systems and controls for monitoring and surveillance suitable for the business in the jurisdiction
  • Previous experience managing a team of professionals
  • Ability to develop, facilitate and deliver AML & Compliance training activities including controls that are in place to mitigate risks to the Bank
  • Experience in investigating and reviewing potential sanction, AML or policy concerns in order to protect the Bank from legal, regulatory and reputational risk with regard to business involving sanctioned entities and/or countries
