
HR Manager – Law Firm
Duties & Responsibilities
Working closely with, and reporting to, the Chief Operating Officer, the HR Manager will provide a proactive HR service to support the effective management and development of people across three offices. This is a broad generalist HR role, and the successful candidate will be expected to develop the function to meet the growing needs of the business. The key duties and responsibilities will include:
• ensuring our recruitment strategy is attracting talented applicants from diverse backgrounds
• managing our recruitment process and on-boarding new employees
• liaising with immigration authorities in the jurisdictions where the firm operates and managing all issues related to immigration and work permits
• ensuring our internal policies and procedures follow best practice and are fully compliant with relevant local employment laws and regulations
• managing, in conjunction with the finance team, the firm’s payroll, including liaising and managing contracts with external service providers
• overseeing the administration of benefits for all staff, including health insurance, pension and vacation
entitlement
• managing the annual appraisal process and subsequently supporting staff in achieving their identified objectives
• identifying learning and development needs for staff, and organising training and professional development programmes
• supporting the partners and senior management in ensuring any issues with staff performance are addressed in the appropriate way
• managing our community investment program, in particular liaising with local schools with regard to educational sponsorship
Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
• a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in HR within an international professional services firm (ideally a law firm)
• detailed knowledge of best practices across the functional areas of HR
• knowledge of the labour laws in the three jurisdictions in which the firm has offices
• a proven ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
• excellent relationship building abilities and influencing skills
• a track record of developing and implementing HR initiatives which have contributed to achieving business objectives
Candidates should have a strong academic record and be educated to bachelor’s degree or equivalent at a minimum. A professional HR qualification would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits:
An attractive remuneration package, and the successful candidate can expect to earn a salary of up to US$120,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications, plus consideration for a discretionary bonus, as well as statutory health and pension benefits.
