Our client, is an international design consultancy working across architecture, interior design, workplace strategy, and emerging design technologies. Known for combining creative design thinking with strategic insight, the firm partners with global organisations to deliver future-focused environments and transformative spatial solutions. As part of its next phase of growth and thought leadership, the firm is establishing a new global Research & Insight Division dedicated to exploring the future of design and the built environment.
In line with this strategic initiative, they are seeking an Associate, Interior Design Research to join this newly created division. Conceived as a blue-sky think tank, the research function will explore emerging trends shaping interior environments, including workplace design, hospitality, residential living, experience-led spaces, and the impact of technology on spatial design. While the role offers flexibility on global location initially, the longer-term vision is for the research capability to grow from a base in Bangalore.
As such, they are looking for a curious and analytically minded design professional who is passionate about understanding how interior environments are evolving in response to changing lifestyles, work patterns, technology, and cultural shifts. In this role, you will support research initiatives examining global interior design trends, user behaviour, material innovation, sustainability, and emerging models of spatial experience.
You will contribute to the development of research reports, white papers, and market insights, gathering case studies, analysing industry data, and translating research findings into compelling narratives that inform both internal design teams and client advisory work. Working closely with the Head of Research and design leaders across the practice, you will help bridge the gap between design thinking, market intelligence, and future-focused research.
The successful candidate will bring a background in interior design, spatial design, design research, or a related discipline, with a strong interest in the future of interiors and experience-driven environments. You will have strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and visually engaging presentations.
An interest in global design trends, sustainability, technology in interiors, and the future of workplace and lifestyle spaces will be highly advantageous, along with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary and international teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new global research think tank within an international design consultancy, contributing to industry-leading insights that will shape the future of interior environments and influence design thinking across global markets.
