As such, they are looking for an Assistant Resort Technical Services Manager to take ownership of day-to-day technical operations, team coordination and maintenance performance. In this high-impact role, you will support the Technical Services Manager in leading a team of technicians, ensuring all machines, equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards and that preventive maintenance plans are rigorously executed. You will safeguard the smooth running of mechanical and electrical systems, uphold hygiene and safety procedures, manage relationships with sub-suppliers, and respond swiftly to technical issues that may affect the guest experience. You will also contribute to key administrative tasks, reporting and scheduling, ensuring that technical operations are aligned with business needs and guest flows.
You will play a pivotal role in building a high-performance engineering culture, developing an engaged and service-minded technical team, and ensuring that all areas of the resort operate safely, reliably and efficiently. A key part of the role will be maintaining rigorous standards of health, safety and compliance, optimising maintenance schedules to minimise downtime, and supporting technical readiness for resort activities and events. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you will also contribute to infrastructure upgrades and refurbishment projects, working closely with local resort management and group technical leadership to ensure works are delivered on time, on budget and in line with brand standards.
The successful candidate will be a natural team leader with a solid engineering background, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, and proven experience in a maintenance, engineering or technical services function within a 4- or 5-star hotel or resort environment. You will bring 3–5 years’ experience at Assistant Maintenance, Engineering or Technical Services Manager level, with strong hands-on exposure to both preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor management and frontline problem-solving. You will have excellent organisational skills, acute attention to detail, and a practical understanding of the technical and operational levers that keep a complex resort environment running smoothly.
A growth mindset, resilience and a passion for supporting and developing people are all essential. You will be expected to lead by example on the floor, maintain a high standard of personal appearance, inspire confidence within your team, and create a culture of accountability, safety and service excellence. Strong communication skills, fluency in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers will be vital to success. You will also be comfortable working long hours when required, handling operational pressure, and relocating internationally for a 12-month assignment in Malaysia, Thailand or the Maldives. Additional foreign languages will be an advantage in this multicultural setting.
This is a unique opportunity for a technically strong and operationally focused hospitality professional to take on a key leadership role in a fast-evolving, world-class resort environment. You will be at the heart of the guest experience, ensuring the reliability, safety and quality of the resort’s facilities, while gaining international exposure and contributing directly to the success and reputation of a leading global resort brand.
