Our client, is an international design consultancy operating across architecture, interior design, workplace strategy, and emerging design technologies. Known for combining creative design thinking with strategic insight, the firm partners with global organisations to shape future-focused environments and transformative spatial solutions. As part of its continued growth and thought leadership ambitions, the firm is establishing a new global Research & Insight Division dedicated to exploring the future of design, technology, and the built environment.
In line with this strategic initiative, they are seeking an Associate, AI to join this newly created division. Conceived as a blue-sky think tank, the research function will explore how artificial intelligence and advanced technologies will reshape design processes, spatial intelligence, workplace strategy, and the broader built environment. While the role offers flexibility on global location initially, the longer-term vision is for the research capability to grow from a base in Bangalore as the division expands.
As such, they are looking for a curious and forward-thinking professional who is passionate about the intersection of AI, design, and the built environment. In this role, you will support research initiatives examining how artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and generative technologies can transform architectural and design workflows, spatial planning, workplace intelligence, and user experience.
You will contribute to the development of research publications, white papers, and innovation frameworks, exploring emerging tools, analysing global technology trends, and translating technical insights into practical knowledge that can inform both internal design teams and client advisory work. Working closely with the Head of Research and design leaders across the business, you will help bridge the gap between technology innovation and real-world design applications.
The successful candidate will bring a background in AI, data science, computational design, digital innovation, or a related technology field, with a strong interest in how technology is transforming the design and construction industries. You will be comfortable exploring emerging technologies, synthesising complex technical topics, and communicating insights clearly to multidisciplinary teams.
An interest in generative design, digital twins, smart buildings, spatial data, and AI-driven design tools will be highly advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, research capability, and communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to collaborate within international and multidisciplinary teams.
This is a rare opportunity to join a new global research think tank within an international design consultancy, contributing to cutting-edge exploration of how AI will shape the future of design, cities, and the built environment.
