Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop annual department strategy and business plan, ensuring the team have aligned goals and targets that are reviewed quarterly.
  • Ensure the professional delivery of productions and events via front of house services, production management support, and technical expertise, ensuring sufficient and suitable trained staff to meet customer needs.
  • Manage a busy calendar of events, including supporting the delivery of theatre rentals, production partnerships, and events.
  • Manage logistics and relationships with a growing number of creative production collaborations, e.g., Cayman Islands National Dance Company, Cayman National Choir and Orchestra, and future National Theatre Company.
  • Generate new opportunities to develop the capacity of theatres, develop new business and generate income to ensure a sustainable organisation.
  • Develop theatre and festival collateral and merchandising to support brand recognition, marketing and generate funds.
  • Manage a calendar of annual festivals, utilizing external events organisers to deliver each professionally and within budget, ensuring with regular check ins and oversight.
  • Oversee, manage, develop and support the Production Officer, Front of House Supervisor and Theatre and Events Technician, and production and festival support staff.
  • Additional duties as required.

 
Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural, Arts or Theatre Management, Events Management, Theatre Studies or a related field is required with Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role, 3+ years of which are within a management role
  • Prior experience working in theatre and festivals is essential, with working technical knowledge of theatre systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to, Caymanian culture and heritage via the visual, literary and performing arts
  • Event management experience, specifically Health & Safety risk assessments and project budgets
  • Computer literate (proficient in MS Office and event management systems)
  • Highly organised, detail oriented and able to work well under pressure
  • Be able to interact with people both within and outside of the organisation in a professional and courteous manner
