Responsibilities

• Safely handle, restrain, and care for a variety of animals, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
• Assist with feeding, grooming, exercise, and routine checks to monitor animal health and behavior.
• Maintain clean and sanitary enclosures, kennels, and surrounding areas in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
• Support veterinary staff during medical procedures or examinations as needed.
• Follow established protocols for animal transport, quarantine, and enrichment activities.
• Observe and report signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes promptly.
• Provide information and basic education to visitors or clients regarding animal care and safety.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity.
• Basic understanding of animal behavior, handling techniques, and health indicators.
• Physically fit and able to lift, restrain, or move animals of various sizes.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful or emergency situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in animal care is an asset.
• Must be eligible to work in the Cayman Islands and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
