IPC Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Review and summarize legal documents, perform legal research, and conduct analysis.
  • Maintain system-based filing systems, assist with file openings, and ensure compliance with CDD requirements.
  • Manage the billing process for the team.
  • Print, collate, and check legal forms/documents for accuracy.
  • Assist in drafting a range of legal documents and preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Attend client meetings or calls with fee earners and take detailed notes.
  • Update the Client Relationship Management system regularly.
  • Support fee earners in preparing basic deeds based on precedents, including notarial certificates.
  • Contribute to the team’s marketing plans by organizing business development events, off-island trips, and client appreciation activities.
  • Handle a variety of tasks and projects as instructed by Partners and Associates.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or degree-level education; paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a legal environment, preferably in a similar role; document management experience is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong IT skills, excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge: Willingness to learn about Cayman Islands law.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Adherence to core values, policies, and compliance standards.
