Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install sheet-metal and pre-insulated ductwork, including bends, transitions, reducers, plenums, branches, and other duct components.
• Take accurate site measurements and fabricate ductwork based on drawings, specifications, and field conditions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction plans, and HVAC equipment specifications.
• Plan practical duct sizes and routes for supply and return air systems, resolving site coordination challenges where required.
• Apply knowledge of HVAC airflow principles, including CFM, air velocity, static pressure, and friction loss.
• Troubleshoot ductwork and airflow issues and ensure installations meet required quality and performance standards.
• Provide technical guidance to duct installers and helpers, assisting with task allocation and quality inspections.
• Complete material take-offs and fabrication efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and workmanship.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC duct fabrication and installation.
• Strong hands-on experience with sheet-metal and pre-insulated ductwork, with Kingspan KoolDuct or similar systems highly desirable.
• Ability to independently fabricate and install ductwork from mechanical drawings and field measurements.
• Good understanding of HVAC airflow, duct sizing, and supply and return air systems.
• Experience providing guidance or technical support to junior duct installers or helpers.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and HVAC equipment specifications.
• Skilled in safely operating sheet-metal machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
• Strong measurement, mathematical, communication, and practical problem-solving skills, with a valid driver’s licence.
