Job Description:

Our clients are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Actuarial Consulting Senior Manager, with a focus on Life insurance, within our Financial Services practice in Bermuda. This exciting opportunity arises from the continuous growth in the Life insurance/reinsurance industry in the region. The role will involve close collaboration with teams across the UK, Europe, and the US to deliver cross-border engagements to our clients. As a Senior Manager, you will play a central role in client engagements, team development, and establishing your reputation as a leader in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will be centered around providing clients with the knowledge and expertise necessary to execute strategies and address complex issues in the Life insurance sector. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading client engagement teams in various areas such as Financial Reporting, Risk Management, Actuarial Transformation®, Financial Modeling, Mergers and Acquisitions, Audit Support, Capital Optimization, Investment Advisory, and New Business Start-up Services.
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within expected timeframes and budget, monitoring progress, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Leading and motivating diverse teams, providing coaching and feedback to team members, and fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment.
• Identifying and generating new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and building networks within and outside the organization 
• Demonstrating deep actuarial technical capabilities, staying updated on industry regulations, and effectively applying this knowledge to client situations.
• Maintaining industry expertise by writing articles, participating in industry groups, and speaking at industry events.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in actuarial-oriented roles, with at least 3 years of management responsibility.
• Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or other internationally recognized association.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and actuarial-related software/tools, including AXIS, Prophet, ALFA, MOSES, VBA, C++, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of reporting bases, particularly USGAAP and US Statutory.
• Excellent time management skills, analytical abilities, and project management skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in conveying complex subjects.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Prior consulting experience with business development, sales, and account management skills.
• Ability to deliver proposals and contribute to strategic discussions at the senior management level.
• Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs.
• Managerial experience, including leading teams across different projects.
