Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Diagnose and manage mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders through medication management and counseling.
• Prescribe and monitor psychopharmaceutical treatments, provide patient education, and refer to hospitals when needed.
• Collaborate and coordinate care with other healthcare providers to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
• Stay informed on developments in patient care, healthcare regulations, and community resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate in community events to promote mental health awareness and advocacy.
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and the ability for self-direction in clinical practice.

Requirements:

• Medical Degree with registration as a Psychiatrist, OR Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner program (specializing in mental health) with independent prescribing authority.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant post-licensure experience.
• Eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Medical Board and/or Health Regulatory Council (CPAM).
• Licenses accepted only from: Jamaica, USA, Canada, UK, South Africa, or Australia.
• Proven ability to work with both adolescents and adults; experience with diverse cultural populations.
• Preferred: experience working with first responders.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Competence in timely documentation using EHR platforms.
