Responsibilities

• Safely perform vegetation management activities, including tree trimming, pruning, and removal around energized overhead transmission and distribution power lines.
• Operate bucket trucks, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws, brush cutters, pruners, and other specialized arboriculture tools and machinery.
• Climb trees using approved climbing equipment when required to safely complete vegetation management work.
• Promote tree health through proper pruning and maintenance techniques while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct work in challenging environments, including roadside locations, rugged terrain, and densely vegetated areas.
• Inspect work sites, identify potential hazards, and follow established health and safety procedures when working near energized electrical infrastructure.
• Communicate professionally with customers, property owners, and team members regarding scheduled work and site activities.
• Complete required documentation, utilize electronic devices for reporting, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Arboriculture, Vegetation Management, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Current ISA Certified Arborist credential or an equivalent recognized arborist certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Certified Arborist, including work around energized overhead transmission and distribution power lines.
• Strong knowledge of tree identification, tree biology, pruning techniques, tree removal, and vegetation management best practices.
• Experience operating bucket trucks, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws, brush cutters, pruners, and other arborist tools.
• Ability to safely climb trees using professional climbing equipment when required.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices related to utility vegetation management.
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of electronic devices and technology for reporting and job documentation.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for operating required vehicles and equipment.
