Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care
    plans for adolescents and adults.
  • Provide evidence-based nutrition counselling to support the management of medical,
    mental health, and lifestyle-related conditions.
  • Educate patients on healthy eating habits, disease prevention, and long-term nutrition
    strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions to achieve optimal health
    outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to
    provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with
    professional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, continuing professional development, and quality
    improvement initiatives.
  • Support community wellness programs, health education, and nutrition outreach activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited
    institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-licensure clinical experience as a Dietitian.
  • Fully licensed for independent practice (no associate, provisional, or supervised status).
  • Eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine
    (CPAM).
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment, and patient education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical documentation skills.

CPAM Registration Eligibility

Candidates should be eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM). Qualifications commonly considered eligible (subject to CPAM approval) include:

  • United States: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/RD) with active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and state licensure where required.
  • United Kingdom: HCPC Registered Dietitian.
  • Canada: Registered Dietitian licensed by the applicable provincial regulatory body.
  • Australia: Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with Dietitians Australia.
  • South Africa: HPCSA Registered Dietitian.
  • New Zealand: Registered Dietitian with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand.
  • Ireland: CORU Registered Dietitian.
  • Jamaica: Dietitian registered with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) Jamaica.
