Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat infants, children, and adolescents with developmental,
    neurological, musculoskeletal, and physical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength,
    coordination, functional independence, and overall development.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including therapeutic exercise, play-based therapy,
    manual therapy, and caregiver education.
  • Monitor patient progress, reassess outcomes, and modify treatment plans to achieve
    optimal clinical results.
  • Collaborate with families, physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, educators,
    and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with
    professional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing
    professional development.
  • Support health promotion, early intervention programs, and community education
    initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-licensure clinical experience in pediatric physiotherapy.
  • Fully licensed for independent practice (no associate, provisional, or supervised status).
  • Eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine
    (CPAM).
  • Experience assessing and treating pediatric developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal
    conditions.
  • Strong communication, family-centered care, and clinical documentation skills.

CPAM Registration Eligibility

Candidates should be eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM). Qualifications commonly considered eligible (subject to CPAM approval) include:

  • United States: Licensed Physical Therapist (DPT or equivalent) holding an active state licence.
  • United Kingdom: HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.
  • Canada: Registered Physiotherapist licensed by the applicable provincial regulatory body.
  • Australia: AHPRA Registered Physiotherapist.
  • South Africa: HPCSA Registered Physiotherapist.
  • New Zealand: Registered Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
  • Ireland: CORU Registered Physiotherapist.
  • Jamaica: Physiotherapist registered with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) Jamaica.
