Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and evidence-based therapy for children and adolescents.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address emotional, behavioral, developmental,
    and learning needs.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions using evidence-based approaches tailored to each child’s
    needs.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
    to support positive developmental outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with
    professional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case consultations, quality improvement initiatives,
    and continuing professional development.
  • Provide parent education and guidance to support children’s emotional and behavioral
    wellbeing.
  • Support community outreach, mental health education, and child wellbeing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-licensure clinical experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Fully licensed for independent practice (no associate, provisional, or supervised status).
  • Eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine
    (CPAM).
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments and providing therapy for pediatric
    populations.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, behavioral therapy, play
    therapy, and social skills interventions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, clinical documentation, and family-centered care skills.

CPAM Registration Eligibility

Candidates should be eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM). Qualifications commonly considered eligible (subject to CPAM approval) include:

  • United States: Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) holding an active state licence.
  • United Kingdom: HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Canada: Registered Psychologist licensed by the applicable provincial regulatory college.
  • Australia: AHPRA Registered Psychologist.
  • South Africa: HPCSA Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
  • New Zealand: Registered Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
  • Ireland: Chartered Psychologist or Registered Psychologist recognized by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Jamaica: Registered Clinical or Educational Psychologist recognized by the Psychology Council of Jamaica.
