Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the maintenance operations of multiple commercial and residential properties, ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs, schedules, and maintenance projects to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion.
• Supervise maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers, including work allocation, performance management, coaching, training, recruitment support, and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, project planning, procurement, inventory management, and the sourcing of quotations while monitoring budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance requirements to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
• Manage building systems and service contracts, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, cleaning, and other essential facility services.
• Prepare maintenance reports, project updates, equipment logs, and recommendations for senior management, while maintaining accurate maintenance and inventory records.
• Respond to emergencies, support business continuity and storm preparedness initiatives, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
• Develop and improve maintenance procedures, operational processes, and sustainability initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Build positive relationships with tenants, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or relevant trade qualifications in maintenance, facilities management, construction, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience, including significant experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Experience managing commercial or mixed-use facilities, maintenance operations, and multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building repairs.
• Experience managing contractors, service agreements, preventative maintenance programs, budgets, procurement, and inventory control.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and building or facilities management systems.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), LEED Operations and Maintenance, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including responding to emergencies when required.
• Valid driver’s license.
