Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of landscape, garden, and grounds maintenance across a private estate, ensuring exceptional horticultural and aesthetic standards.
  • Develop and implement seasonal maintenance programmes, planting schedules, irrigation plans, and landscape enhancement projects.
  • Maintain the presentation of gardens, outdoor living spaces, recreational areas, water features, and estate grounds to a guest-ready standard.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the estate’s landscaping and grounds team, ensuring high performance, safety, and continuous development.
  • Manage specialist contractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring all work meets quality, budget, and health and safety requirements.
  • Plan and oversee new landscape installations, renovations, and capital improvement projects from design through completion.
  • Manage operational budgets, procurement, equipment maintenance, and inventory of tools, machinery, and landscaping supplies.
  • Collaborate with architects, landscape designers, consultants, and estate management to support long-term landscape planning and estate improvements.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years’ experience managing landscaping operations within UHNW private estates, luxury hospitality properties, botanical gardens, or prestigious commercial developments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing landscaping, horticultural, or grounds maintenance teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation systems, turf management, and landscape maintenance.
  • Experience managing contractors, capital projects, operational budgets, and supplier relationships.
  • Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Arboriculture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Professional horticultural certifications, pesticide application certification, and First Aid certification are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, discreet, and detail-oriented approach.
